Tumakuru: Revenue Minister R. Ashoka said that all eligible elderly citizens aged over 60 years will get old age pension without any hurdles.

Speaking to press persons here on Friday, Ashoka said that old age pension will be made available for all elderly citizens aged over 60 years even if they do not apply.

Pointing out that the Revenue Department has details about all persons aged over 60 years in the State, he said that the Government has streamlined the old age pension mechanism for facilitating hurdle-free pension delivery to elderly citizens.

Noting that the pilot project in this regard has already been introduced in Ballari and Udupi districts, he said that Tumakuru too has been added now.

The Government plans to extend this scheme throughout the State in a couple of months, he said and added that such measures will largely help in ending the shortcomings in the implementation of old age pension scheme.
