Senior journalist no more

NanjangudK. Ravishankar (50), a senior journalist, son of late Krishnamurthy and a resident of KHB Colony in the town, passed away yesterday night at a private hospital in Mysuru following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife Nagashree, three brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends.

He had served as Nanjangud Correspondent of Mysuru Mithra and Star of Mysore newspapers for more than 30 years, served as the President and Secretary of Nanjangud Taluk Journalists’ Association and was a member of Mysuru District Journalists’ Association (MDJA). He was also the recipient of Shivaratreeshwara Media Award in 2013.

Last rites were performed at Hadinaaru Kaalu Mantapa Burial Grounds on the banks of River Kapila in Nanjangud this morning, according to family sources.

MDJA, Nanjangud Taluk Journalists’ Association and a host of dignitaries have condoled the death of Ravishankar.
