Senior press photographer D.H. Amar Das passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: D.H. Amar Das (83), a senior press photographer, passed away in the wee hours of today at his residence in city.

He leaves behind his wife Asha Das, children Preethi, Jyothi and Nithin and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Muktidhama in Vijayanagar here this afternoon, according to family sources.

Amar Das, who completed his Diploma in Photography course at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai during 1956, had returned to Mysuru and took photography as a hobby besides collecting rare photos of various incidents.

He had also worked as a press photographer of various newspapers.
