Senior swimmer wins five gold medals in Nationals

City’s 80-year-old senior swimmer Sundaram Basappa has bagged 5 gold medals in swimming contest at the Karnataka Open National Masters Games-2023 organised by Masters Games Association of Karnataka (affiliated to Pan India Masters Games Federation) at Hubballi and Dharwad on  Nov. 4 and 5.

Owner of Sri Manjunatha Dish View and a resident of Vivekanandanagar in city, Sundaram, representing Karnataka, has secured gold medal each in 50m Freestyle (01:24:72), 50m Back Stroke (01:43:35), 100m Back Stroke (03:58:80) and 50m Breast Stroke (02:20:77) in the ‘75 and Above’ age category and 100m Freestyle (03:26:19) in ‘80 and Above’ age category.
