Seven unidentified persons die in city

100 such cases registered in 2024

Mysuru: In the past three months, 10 homeless persons have died in Devaraja Police limits out of which a majority of them were found lying sick on the roadsides in the surroundings of K.R. Hospital and admitted to the Hospital, where they succumbed to illness. Out of the 10 persons, seven are unidentified people.

A 50-year-old unidentified man, who was found lying sick near Jayadeva Building in K.R. Hospital premises and admitted to K.R. Hospital, has died on Feb. 14.

On Jan. 25, a 70-year-old unidentified man died near the Stone Building. On Jan. 18, another unidentified man died near the Casualty Ward. A 40-year-old unidentified man, who was found lying sick behind Ganesha Mandira on Feb. 5 and admitted to K.R. Hospital, has died on Feb. 16.

On Feb. 9, a 35-year-old person, who was lying sick near Akki Chowk, has died.

On March 11, 2024, a 35-year-old unidentified man was found dead near Sharada Jewellers, adjacent to Devaraj Urs Road. On Aug. 28, 2024, a 50-year-old man, who was found lying sick near the Casualty Ward at K.R. Hospital and admitted to the Hospital, has died.

100 cases registered in 2024

From January 2024 till December 2024, 100 death cases of unidentified persons have been registered at Devaraja Police Station. K.R. Hospital premises, New Sayyaji Rao Road, Dewan’s Road and other roads and places have become the shelter for the homeless people and the MCC officials have failed to identify them and provide permanent shelter.
