Shankara Jayanti tomorrow

The 108 Shankara Jayanti Mahotsava will be held at Sri Amrutheshwara Temple, Geetha Pathashale, Shankar Mutt at Palahalli in Srirangapatna taluk at 8.30 am tomorrow (Apr.30). The event features Kalasha Sthapane, Bhagawadwajarohana, Abhisheka, Bilwa Ashtothara Puja etc., Swami Nithyasthanandaji  of Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashrama will grace the occasion. Mysuru Sadhu Samaja Hon. Secretary S. Subramanya Jettappa will inaugurate the Mahotsava. Retired Commercial Tax Department Officer B.K. Veerabhadraswamy will preside.

    It appears that the followers of Jagadguru Shankaracharya are not insisting on a general holiday to celebrate Shankara Jayanthi, while holidays are declared for Basava Jayanthi, Ambedkar Jayanthi,Valmiki Jayanthi, Kanakadasa
    Jayanthi,Mahaveer Jayanthi,etc.!
