Dhruthi T. Venugopal representing India in the $15,000 Sharm El Sheikh ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament at Egypt on Saturday lost her first round women’s singles tie and crashed out of the tournament.
Sweden’s Kaisa Rinaldo Persson beat Dhruthi 6-4, 6-1 and entered the pre-quarterfinals in the women’s singles event. In the women’s doubles event, Suzy Larkin (GBR) & Dan Ni Wang (China) combined well to beat the second seeded Indian pair of Dhruthi & Kyra Shroff 6-4, 6-1.
