Srirangapatna: A shepherd and 32 sheep were killed after they came under a moving train between Paschimavahini and Palahalli near Srirangapatna last evening. The deceased shepherd is Ningegowda (47), son of late Channegowda and a resident of K. Bettahalli in Mandya. 

Ningegowda, who was tending the flock near the railway track, saw Gol Gumbaz Express train approaching from Mysuru side and rushed to chase the sheep which were on the track during which the train ran over him and 32 sheep, killing them.

Mysuru and Srirangapatna Railway Police, who conducted an inspection, have registered a case.
