Mysuru: S. Varshini, a Class 9 of Shanthala Vidya Peetha in city participating in the CISCE National Shooting Competition held at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, excelled by winning a gold medal in the U-17 Girls Open Sight category.

This achievement is particularly significant as Varshini’s gold medal is the only gold won by Karnataka in the U-17 Open Sight category. Her outstanding performance also earned her qualification for the prestigious School Games Federation of India (SGFI) competition.

Varshini is coached by Pavan and Vivek of Mysore Shooting Academy.
