Sir,
Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla has been in a deplorable condition for several months, causing significant inconvenience to commuters and pedestrians alike.
While the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) collects road-cutting charges from vendors, it fails to patch the damaged roads for an entire year. This negligence raises serious concerns about the responsibilities of the area authorities and engineers.
Nine months ago the road was excavated for UGD works, but it wasn’t patched up or repaired after it, resulting in extremely bad roads with pits and potholes.
As one of the busiest roads connecting multiple areas, Shivaji Road demands immediate attention. A major portion of road, from N.R. Mohalla Park to Fountain Circle, lacks a proper footpath, making it unsafe for pedestrians. Additionally, lorries have been illegally parked on footpath for several years, further deteriorating its condition and obstructing pedestrian movement.
Despite tax-payers contributing significantly, they are not receiving the basic infrastructure they deserve. The MCC authorities must take urgent action to asphalt the road, restore the footpaths and improve overall road conditions at the earliest.
