Nanjangud: N. Shivakumar, a prominent businessman of the town has been elected as the President of the Lions Club.

Former District Governor Ln. Ramateertha handed over the appointment letter to Shivakumar at a function held here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramateertha said that becoming the President of this prestigious club itself was an achievement and wished the office-bearers all success in their endeavour to take the club to greater heights.

Actor Surya who was the chief guest, said that our alertness and sharpness was our leader and as such, one should strive to develop that.

Former Lions Club President K.V. Shivakumar, former CMC Vice-President N. Indra, Advocate Bommai, leaders Doreswamy, Manjunath and others were present.

A tricycle was donated to a physically challenged person on the occasion.
