January 31, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Advising Pourakarmika children not to wait for Government jobs and instead become self-employed, Karnataka State Safai Karmachari Commission Chairman M. Shivanna assured that the Commission will extend all help for the children of Pourakarmikas and other poverty ridden students, who are appearing for civil service exams.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Nere-Hore Yuva Samsath’ programme organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra in association with Educare-ITES at the Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here on Friday.

Noting that he felt happy upon learning that Pourakarmika children too were undergoing coaching for civil services exam, Shivanna said that all possible support will be extended to organisations which was providing  coaching for underprivileged students.

Suggesting the youth not to depend wholly on Government jobs, he said that youth should themselves become entrepreneurs and be able to provide jobs to others, rather than go in search of jobs. He also called upon the youths to update their knowledge and skills by making good use of Government Skill Training programmes. Students who underwent skill development training were distributed certificates on  the occasion.

Lokayukta SP P.V. Sneha, District Skill Development officer N.S. Shivanna, State Vokkaligara Vedike President H.L. Yamuna, Credit-I Managing Trustee Dr. M.P. Varsha, K.N. Prasanna Kumar and others were present.
