Shravana Yuva Sangeetotsava in city from Aug. 15 to 17

Mysore/Mysuru: Shruthimanjari Foundation and Rotary Club of Mysore West have jointly organised ‘Shravana Yuva Sangeetotsava 2025’ at Rotary West Auditorium in Saraswathipuram here from Aug. 15 to 17.

Aug. 15 (6 pm): T.R. Arun, AGM, Karnataka Bank, Regional Office, Mysuru, will inaugurate the event. Rtn. M. Devaraju, President, Rotary Club of Mysore West, will preside.

Stage event will be followed by a Karnatak Classical Vocal Concert by Vid. G.K. Manmohan Krishna, accompanied by  Vid. Vaibhav Ramani on violin, Vid. Aniruddh S. Bhat on mridanga and Vidu. Bhagyalakshmi M. Krishna on morching.

Aug. 16 (6 pm): Karnatak Classical Veena Concert by Vidu. Aishwarya Manikarnika, accompanied by Vid. A. Radesh on mridanga and Vid. R. Karthik on kanjira.

Aug. 17: Karnatak Classical Vocal Concert by Vidu. Aditi Prahlad, accompanied by Vidu. C.V. Shruthi on violin, Vid. Prajwal Bharadhwaj on mridanga and Vid. Sumukh Karanth on kanjira.

PROFILES

 Vid. G.K. Manmohan hails from the heritage city of Mysuru. At the tender age of three itself he was recognising few ragas. He learnt music under Vidu. H.N. Rajalakshmi, late Vidu. Vasantha Sundararajan and later from Vidu. Pushpa Srinivasan.

Vid. Manmohan started giving full-fledged Karnatak vocal concerts at reputed organisations when he was 13. His unique rendition style, elegant  manodharma and bhava laden in singing have won accolades from musicians and music lovers.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering  and MS in Hazardous Waste Material Management, USA. He served University of Los Angeles as Environmental and Safety Specialist.

Aishwarya Manikarnika is a performing Karnatak classical veena player and vocalist. She is from a family of musicians and has been trained in Karnatak music from a tender age by her grandmother, Karnataka Kalashree Veena Vidushi M.K. Saraswathi, A-Top graded artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Aishwarya is an A-graded veena artiste of AIR. She has received multiple music scholarships including CCRT scholarship from Ministry of Culture.

In vocal, she has completed the Vidwat Antima music examination with distinction.

Aditi B. Prahalad is an upcoming classical vocalist who had her initial training under Vid. B.E. Kamal Kumar and Vid. S.R. Vinay Sharva. Now she is under the guidance of Vid. A.S. Murali and Vid. H.S. Sudhindra.

A child prodigy, she has been performing Karnatak classical vocal concerts from the age of 5 in various prestigious platforms all over India and abroad.

Aditi is the recipient of National Child Award-2015 from the then President of India Pranab Mukherjee. She has been awarded with Raga Laya Prabha (SRLKM), Best Senior Vocalist (Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha), Pallavi Award (Sri R.K. Srikantan Trust and SRLKM) among others.
