Shredded currency notes filled in sacks found in Mandya

October 8, 2017

Mandya: Two sacks containing shredded currency notes with a face value of Rs. 100 and Rs. 500 were found in Ragimuddanahalli in the taluk on Saturday.

Yesterday morning, a few pieces of notes were found scattered on the road by the villagers as the sacks damaged by cattle and the villagers informed the Police, who rushed to the spot.

The sacks containing shredded currency notes were found lying near the farm of one Ningegowda since two days, but nobody had noticed them. It is suspected that fake currency note racketeers may have dumped the sacks near the farm.

The sack contained new Rs. 500 shredded currency notes which has led to the doubt that it could be fake.

Mandya Rural Sub-Inspector Azharuddin, who has registered a case in this regard said that the originality of the shredded currencies can be ascertained only after tests.
