Shubhamangala Raghunandan to perform at RAAGA on  Saturday

An accomplished vocalist, Vidu. Shubhamangala Raghunandan will be performing at RAAGA on Saturday (May 20)  at 5.30 pm at Prajna Kuteera Ayurveda Centre, Vishwamanava Double Road, Kuvempunagar.

Hailing from the reputed Chintalapalli musical family, Shubhamangala is the daughter of Karnataka Kalashri Vid. G.A. Kumaraswamy (one of the Gudibande brothers) and Vijayalakshmi. She started learning music from her father at a very tender age and went on to perform Katcheris from her 14th year, winning the hearts of the music afficionados.

Shubhamangala is a Gold medallist in BA and MA with Music as her main subject. She is persuing her advanced music tutelage under Ganakalabhushana Vid. R.K. Padmanabha and Vid. Dr. Srikantam Nagendra Sastry.

A ‘B High’ graded artiste at the AIR (in both Karnatak and Devaranama categories), she is doing her Ph.D under the guidance of Dr. S.N. Susheela. She has performed in prestigious sabhas like Ananya, ISKCON, Indian Institute of World Culture, Ramaseva Mandali, Bharatiya Samagana Sabha, Nadabrahma Sangita Sabha etc.

On Saturday, she is being accompanied by a seasoned team of accompanyists — Vid. Achyutha Rao on the violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on the mrudangam and Vid. S. Manjunath on the ghatam.

Dr. N.V. Krishnamurthy, Director, Prajana Kuteera, will be giving a talk on Healthy Living through Ayurveda and Yoga from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm at the same venue, preceding the concert.
