As Siddarameshwara Jayanti, netas skip Mahaveer Jayanti too

Mysuru: On the lines of Siddarameshwara Jayanti (that was held yesterday), Mahaveer Jayanti too, organised by District Administration, Department of Kannada & Culture and Jain Associations, this morning at Kalamandira here turned a damp squib with none of the netas listed in the invitations turning up for the function except MLA Vasu  who made a brief appearances. In the absence of District in–Charge Minister, ZP President Nayeema Sulthana inaugurated the programme and offered floral tributes to a portrait of Mahaveer.

Sri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka Pattacharya Swamiji of Jain Mutt, Kanakagiri, graced the occasion. H. Chennappa, Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, Heads of Jain Samajas, DDPUE Jayaprakash and others were present. Dr. Abhijit Shastri, Professor, Jain Studies, delivered a lecture.
