Siddarthanagar roads crying for attention

May 2, 2022

Sir,

Mysuru, a city of Palaces, is a Heritage city too. Travellers across the globe who visit this city carry with them sweet memories and also memories of horrible roads. The condition of city roads are so bad that Space Agencies in India can train their moon walkers here at Mysuru! Roads are full of potholes and motorists, who drive their vehicles haphazardly to avoid these “craters,” end up hitting or getting hit by other vehicles.

The condition of roads in extensions is no better. If one takes a ride on Siddarthanagar roads, a clear picture will emerge. One wonders whether people’s representatives who represent this area are aware of this problem or not. VinayaMarga, a hub of major activities of this area, too is full of potholes from GST Office to Alanahalli Layout.

It is a shame that neither the Corporator nor the MLA representing this area have bothered to visit and assess the condition of the roads. They visit the residents with a fake smile folding their hands only during elections seeking votes. The same enthusiasm vanishes once they are elected and people have to suffer for having elected them.

As a responsible citizen, I request the Corporator and the MLA concerned to go round and initiate immediate action to repair the roads.  Failing which, residents of this area may have to stage protests against the ‘elected representatives.’
