Mysuru: “There is a law regarding giving any work on contract where reservation for SC/ST should be followed. However, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy did not show interest in passing a Legislation in that context,” contended former CM Siddharamaiah.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a Students’ Hostel building to be constructed by Sri Shivayogi Siddharameshwara Bovi Hitarakshana Samiti at Lalithadripura here yesterday.

Siddharamaiah opined that education is essential for people of all communities without which the oppressed class cannot come to the main stream of society. 

He said that to understand the concept of social justice, the people should become educated to claim their due rights. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focusing only on Kashmir and Ayodhya Rama Mandir without giving due importance for development of the oppressed class.

Sri Immadi Siddarameshwara Swamiji of Bovi Gurupeetha graced the occasion. Samiti President G. Nagaraj, former Chairman of Karnataka Bovi Development Corporation G.V. Seetharam, former MLA M.K. Somashekar, former ZP President K. Marigowda and others were present.
