Siddu accused of scuttling Dalit leadership

May 6, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of scuttling Dalit leadership in the Congress, Chamarajanagar BJP MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad said that the former CM has finally chosen to contest from his home Constituency after conducting a hectic search for other safe Constituencies for him elsewhere in the State.

Addressing the BJP poll rally in Varuna Assembly segment, organised by BJP SC Morcha at Srilakshmi Kalyana Mantap in Nadanahalli, Sreenivasa Prasad exuded confidence that the BJP would retain power in the State by winning with a comfortable majority.

Pointing out that he has suggested PM Modi to pay special attention to the status of Dalit communities once the Assembly polls are over, he accused the Congress of doing little for the upliftment of Dalits. Charging Siddharamaiah of being a selfish politician, he said that the former Congress CM had nixed the chances of a Dalit leader becoming the Chief Minister when the Congress was in power.

Maintaining that he has come up in politics in phases extending  over five decades, he asserted that he would not bow to anyone. Stating that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who lost the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, is an opportunist politician and was not involved in any struggles, he said that Kharge would not survive in politics without power.

BJP SC Morcha President C.M. Mahadevaiah, former IAS officer and actor K. Shivaram, party leaders K.P. Siddalingaswamy, Vijaykumar, Sadananda, Guruswamy, Prakash, Rajendra, Arakalawadi Nagendra, Narasimhamurthy, Varahalli Nagendra, Sridhar Shivaiah, Manju, Anandaraju, Balaraju, Narasimhamurthy and others were present.
