Signal jumping rampant at busy junctions

March 25, 2022

Sir,

On my way to office, daily I pass through the three traffic junctions in the morning as well as in the evening — KRS Road – Vontikoppal junction, Jayadeva Hospital – KRS road junction and Hebbal Ring road junction.

Signal jumping has become rampant at these three busy junctions especially during peak hours inconveniencing fellow motorists who abide by the traffic rules.

Unfortunately, I do not see any Traffic personnel at these junctions to regulate the traffic.

A few days back, I was waiting for signal to turn green at Jayadeva Hospital junction and a helmet-less bike rider, brushed with my two-wheeler and drove away.

In another instance recently at Vontikoppal junction, a bike rider was about to collide with my two-wheeler.

Similar signal jumpings are common every day at these junctions as there is no one to manage or regulate the traffic.

What is the necessity of simply installing traffic signals and allowing riders to violate the rules and later collecting fines?

Prevention of violation of rules must be implemented. I hope, the authorities concerned will wake up and take needful action.
