Mysore/Mysuru: New Crafts is organising Silk India-2021 exhibition at Nanjaraja Bahaddur Choultry on Vinobha Road in city from Nov. 24 to 30 between 10.30 am and 8 pm.
The exhibition, which brings together rural weavers from different parts of India, features vast collections of handlooms, dress materials, West Bengal cotton sarees and many more at over 130 stalls.
The expo will also display handmade jewellery, silver, kundan and meenakari jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones, gemstones, paintings, leather craft, hand-crafted items in wood, ivory, lac, glass, brass, silver and gold; carpets, durries, Mojaris / Jutis, Marble crafts, Ivory, Paintings and textiles of colourful fabrics like Bandhani & Bandhej, gorgeous forms that portray rich culture of Gujarat. The exhibition is all about the use of traditional handloom skills to create contemporary lifestyle products. The jute-muslin sarees make a classic statement with their delicate stripes. The pallus are embellished with huge jute and gold kairis. Also part of Saha’s Collection, are the less expensive Tangails. Gift products abound at the exhibition.
