Silk India Expo in city from tomorrow

Mysuru:  On the occasion of Deepavali festival, ‘Hastashilpi’ has organised ‘Silk India-2018,’ an exhibition-cum-sale of Silk Sarees and other dresses from Oct.30 to Nov.4 at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Vinoba Road in city.

“Various Silk Saree weavers, Handloom Clusters and Silk Co-operative Societies will be showcasing their products in the expo. The intention of ‘Hastashilpi’ is to make the products available directly to the customers without the moderator to the weavers and artisans,” said Hastashilpi organiser T. Abhinand.

Various types of sarees including Arini Silk Sarees, Crepe & Georgette Silk Sarees, Chiffon Silk Sarees, Tassar Silk Sarees and Suit, Kanjeevaram Silk Sarees & Wedding Sarees, Designer Fancy Sarees, Darmavaram Silk Sarees, Raw Silk & Tassar, Jute Silk Sarees, Dhaka Silk Sarees, Handloom Silk Cotton Sarees, Silk Blends Sarees & Stole, Silk Shawls, Uppada, Gadwal, Paithani Sarees, Mangalagiri & Pochampalli Silk Sarees will be kept of display and on sale at the expo.

Kalamkari materials, Hand Block Print Sarees, Suit & Silk Bed Covers, Designer dress materials & Border, Lazes, Kurtis, Hand Woven Matka & Assam Muga Fabrics, Apoorva Silk Sarees, Baluchari, Dhaka Masli, Gicha Sarees, Boutique Sarees, Kantha Sarees, Zordoshi, Lucknow Chikan Work Sarees, Bhagalpur suits, Printed Silk Sarees, Banarasi Sarees, Reshmi plain and Butti Sarees, Maheswari, Chanderi Silk Sarees & Suit and Kota Silk, Mulberry Silk with temple border, Banaras Jamdani, Hand-woven Sarees will also be on display and on sale.

The expo, which begins from tomorrow, will be open for public from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm till Nov. 4.
