Silk Weavers’ expo-cum-sale begins

Mysore/Mysuru: MLA L. Nagendra inaugurated the 10-day exhibition-cum-sale organised by ‘Silk Weavers’ at Nanjaraja Bahaddur Choultry on Vinoba Road in city on June 3.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagendra called upon the Mysureans to visit the silk expo being held in city for the first time and encourage the weavers.

Expo Organisers Ameen Shah, S.M. Adi and others were present on the occasion.

The expo being held as part  of the ensuing Varamahalakshmi festival (Aug. 12) will be open to visitors till June 12 between 10.30 am and 9 pm.

The weavers from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Orissa, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are participating in the expo by displaying their exclusive wedding and summer collections at nearly 45 stalls. Besides silk sarees, Jaipur and Kalamkari tops, bedsheets, one gram gold jewelleries and other decorative items are available at the expo.

There is no entry and parking fee for visitors.
