Simple Independence Day celebration in city on Aug.15: DC

Mysore/Mysuru: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the District Administration will celebrate Independence Day in a simple manner in the city on Aug.15.

Deputy Commissioner Dr.Bagadi Gautham, who chaired a meeting at his office here on Saturday, directed the officials to make necessary preparations for celebrating Independence Day in a simple manner at Bannimantap Torchlight Parade Grounds, the usual venue, on that day. 

The DC pointed out that District Minister will hoist the national flag at 9 am on Aug.15 and receive the guard of honour. 

The Police Department will take out the customary march-past as part of Independence Day celebration, he said.

Additional DC Dr. B.S. Manjunathaswamy, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa, MUDA Commissioner  Dr. D.B. Natesh, DCP Pradeep Gunti, CAR DCP Shivaraj, Assistant Commissioner Kamala Bai and other officials attended the meeting.
