Mysuru: The ‘Punyasmarane’ of late legendary singer S. Janaki will take place at Sa.Ra. Convention Hall in Dattagalli here on July 22.
Janaki’s close aide Naveen met former Minister S.R. Mahesh in this regard yesterday and held talks on arrangements. Janaki passed away in Mysuru on July 11 and last rites were performed at Naveen’s farmland at Kaniyanahundi in H.D. Kote on July 12.
Naveen said it was decided to hold the 11th day ceremony from 12 noon to 4 pm on July 22. Invitations have been sent to Music Directors, singers and other film industry personalities from all languages. During the ceremony, many hit songs of the legendary singer will be rendered, he said.
Stating that he has been receiving many representations seeking construction of a Memorial, Naveen said it is the Government which has to decide.
Meanwhile, Janaki’s fans are visiting her funeral spot at Kaniyanahundi to offer their tributes.
