Skill development training for Covid frontline workers: DC

September 13, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Bagadi Gautham has called upon the officials of all concerned Departments to join hands in successfully organising short-term skill development training for candidates interested to function as COVID frontline workers.

Speaking at a meeting in this regard at his office here recently, he said that just holding meetings for chalking out the modalities and contents of the programme is not enough. The DHO should formulate the programme by discussing with district-level officials of other stakeholder departments.

Dr. Bagadi Gautham announced that a special committee headed by him (DC) has been formed to implement the plans of skill training. The committee comprises MMC&RI Dean and Director, DHO, District Surgeon, Principal of Regional Health and Family welfare Training Centre, Principal of District Health and Family Welfare Training Centre and District Skill Development Officer.

The DC further said that job role based and vocational based skill training in Advanced Care Support, Home Care Support, Basic Care Support and Sample Collection Support are available at Regional and District Health and Family Welfare Training Centres. While the educational qualification needed for the first three courses is a pass in tenth standard, the qualification needed for Sample Collection Support is a pass in PUC Science stream, he added.

Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department Assistant Director C.S. Sudarshan, District Skill Development Officer C. Jagannath, District Health and Family Welfare Training Centre Principal Dr. Suvarna and others were present at the meeting.
