Mysuru: “Smart India Hackathon provided a treasure trove of ideas,” said Parish Rao, Head of Manufacturing Practices, Neil Soft Limited.

He was delivering valedictory address during grand finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2024, jointly organised by Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)  and i4C (Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovations Centre), at VVCE in city.

Highlighting the importance of SIH in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, Rao stated, “SIH provides a treasure trove of ideas, many of which have the potential to evolve into successful startups. These startups act as catalysts for creating employment opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to the nation’s economic growth.”

VVCE was one of the 51 nodal centres across India. The event featured 24 teams and 200 participants from premier institutions across, who showcased innovative solutions to pressing problems provided by AICTE, New Delhi and Autodesk, Inc.

Winners: Team PAC_BOT from KCG College of Technology, Chennai, solved a problem on Autonomous water surface cleaning robot by Autodesk.

Team Avishkari Nexus from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, solved a problem on Space Exploration by AICTE.

Team Outcast from C.V. Raman Global University, Odisha and Team Silent Scars from Dr. N.G.P Arts & Science College, Coimbatore, solved a problem on Creating Toys & Games to increase innovation in children by AICTE.

Team Bengal Brainiacs from Netaji Subhash Engineering College, West Bengal, solved a problem on smart automation using artificial intelligence by AICTE. The winning teams received Rs. 1 lakh each.
