South Zone Inter-University Men’s Kho-Kho: Narrow win for University of Madras

Inspiring play by Dharaneshwar, who played for 4min.50s and scored 1 point, helped his team University of Madras to score an exciting and narrow 14-13 win over Adikavi Nannaya University in the third round match and helped them enter the pre-quarterfinal on the second day of the South Zone Inter-University men’s kho-kho championships 2017-18, conducted by DPE, UoM at University grounds here on Thursday.

Satish of Adikavi Nannaya University also impressed by playing for 3min & 30s and scored 2 points, but could not help his team to enter the next stage.

In the other important third round matches, Andhra University, Vishakapatnam, with some inspiring play by Pattu (3.40s & 4 points) scored a convincing 1 point and an innings win over Kerala University (12-11 and a innings) while Osmania University, Hyderabad, entered the pre-quarters with a 4 points & a innings (10-6 ) win over UAHS, Shivmogga University. Davanagere University also entered the pre-quarters with a 10-6 and a innings & 4 points win over Anna University, Chennai. Bangalore University too entered the pre-quarters with a narrow 15-14 (one point) win over Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.
