SPB’s connection with Ganapathy Ashram

September 26, 2020

The legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) was fond of birds and made it a point to visit Shuka Vana (Parrot Park) at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram on Ooty Road in Datta Nagar whenever he was in Mysuru. The veteran playback singer had also lent his voice for Bhajans’ cassette of Avadhoota Datta Peetham Founder-Pontiff Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji’s composition. A two-day shoot of ‘Ede Thumbi Haaduvenu’ was also done at Nadamantapa in the Ashram premises in August 2014. Also, the late singer had given many musical programmes in the Ashram.
