Speakers malfunction at Brindavan Gardens’ musical fountain show

March 4, 2026

Sir,

The Brindavan Gardens at Krishna Raja Sagar Dam (KRS) in nearby Mandya district is one of the most iconic tourist attractions associated with Mysuru.

Every evening, the much- awaited musical fountain show draws large crowds of visitors from across Karnataka, various parts of India and even from abroad. The show is a major highlight for tourists who travel nearly 20 kilometres from the Mysuru city centre, pay toll charges, parking fees and an entry fee of Rs. 100 per person to witness this spectacle.

However, it is disappointing to note that the speaker system used during the musical fountain display is not functioning properly. During my recent visit, the music accompanying the fountain was unclear and distorted, with certain songs producing blurred and disturbing sounds.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Even during my visit nearly a year ago, the same issue persisted. While a few songs were audible, others were marred by poor sound quality.

Such technical negligence diminishes the overall experience for visitors and creates an unfavourable impression of Karnataka’s tourism standards.

Given the significant footfall the Gardens receive daily, especially during weekends and holidays, maintaining high-quality infrastructure is essential.

I request the authorities concerned and the Tourism Department to treat this matter with urgency and either repair or replace the malfunctioning speakers at the earliest.

Ensuring a seamless and enjoyable musical fountain experience will go a long way in preserving the image and reputation of Mysuru and Mandya as a premier tourist destination.
