Special Education course at AIISH: Last date extended

Mysuru: All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru, has extended last date for applying to Bachelors Training Programme in Special Education at the Institute. The 2 – year Bachelor of Education – Special Education (Hearing Impairment), that is, B.Ed.Spl.Ed.(HI) programme trains teachers for children with hearing impairment. Graduates of any stream with an aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST) can apply before June 17.

Degree holders may make use of this opportunity to open doors to a wide range of jobs, as special educators in special schools for children with hearing impairment, as well as resource teachers in mainstream schools.

The Inclusive Education for the Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) scheme under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan has made special sanction for appointing special education teachers at school level, and CBSE has made it mandatory for all affiliated schools to appoint special educators.

Apart from teaching jobs, the successful completion of the programme opens doors to a wide range of career enhancement opportunities like continuing with M.Ed.Spl.Ed.(HI), serving in research projects and as part of educational administration.
