Special NSS camp at Belavadi from Feb. 17

The annual special National Service Scheme (NSS) camp organised by the Department of Collegiate Education, University of Mysore and Government First Grade College for Women, Vijayanagar, will be held at the Government Higher Primary School in Belavadi from Feb. 17 to 23.

The camp will be inaugurated on Feb. 17 at 4 pm by MLA G.T. Devegowda. Prof. K.P. Raghotham, Additional Director of the Department of Collegiate Education, will preside.

On Feb. 18 at 4.30 pm, Bar Association President G.V. Ramamurthy will deliver a talk on ‘Women and Child Rights’. A street play will be staged on Feb. 19 at 3.30 pm by the Department of Information. Retd. Science lecturer C. Basavaraju will speak on ‘Conservation of Environment’ on Feb. 20 at 3.30 pm.

On Feb. 21 at 4 pm, Fire and Emergency Services personnel will speak on ‘Fire Extinguishing and Safety Precautions’. They will also conduct a demo. At 6 pm, Special Officer of Housing B. Ravikumar will speak on ‘Judicious use of water in agriculture’. Bheemraj, Kannada lecturer at Sarada Vilas, will talk on ‘Personality Development’ on Feb. 22 at 4 pm; talk on ‘Scientific Mindset’ at 5 pm by C. Krishnegowda, Member, Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat.

Prof. T.L. Sudhakar, Jt. Director, Regional Collegiate Education, will deliver the valedictory address on Feb. 23 at 11.30 am. Acting Principal of Government FGC Prof. Rajashekar and NSS Programme Officer Dr. C.M. Shivaprasad will be present.
