Specially-abled seek fulfilment of demands

Mysuru: Specially-abled activists working for the rehabilitation of the disabled in rural and urban areas, staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Wednesday seeking fulfilment of their various demands.

Pointing out that as per the 2011 census there are over 13 lakh disabled families in the State, the protestors maintained that MRWs working in urban areas and VRWs working in rural areas have no job security despite working for several years.

Urging to create Taluk Disabled Welfare Officer posts for MRWs and Disabled Welfare Assistant posts for VRWs, they demanded the Government to regularise their services and also to implement welfare measures meant for the disabled  in full-scale.

S.S. Mahadevaiah, R.M.Swamy and others took part in the protest.
