Speed limits ignored

October 5, 2026

Mysuru: It often appears that motorists in Mysuru are driving without much regard for speed limits.

A speed limit of 30-40 km/h should be enforced within the city. But speed-limit boards are hardly visible anywhere. There is also little effort to make motorists aware of the speed restrictions.

With Dasara just days away, vehicles from other towns and cities have already started entering Mysuru in large numbers. With accidents being reported regularly, Traffic Police need to be extra alert during the festival and ensure that the rush does not lead to major accidents.

Citizens also say that only personnel familiar with traffic rules and road-safety regulations should be posted in the Traffic Division.
