Split-up of traffic fines

November 2, 2018

Sir,

Periodically from the Office of the Mysuru City Police Commissioner, news bulletins are released mentioning about the traffic fines collected by the Traffic Police under different traffic rules violation heads.

Till date they have not given the split-up figure for the registration number plate rules violation. Apparently, a serious traffic offense like riding without a Regn. No. plate or having a defective number plate is considered as an acceptable traffic rules violation by our Traffic Police, who are worried about only implementing the ‘helmet rule’ and they apprehend only helmet less riders, turning a blind eye to many other visible traffic rules violations.

While on the customary blind check of helmetless riders, Traffic Police need to check the vehicles for other violations also.
