Sports Meets at Bylakuppe

Bylakuppe: The 53rd Annual Sports Meet was organised at CST Bylakuppe CTSA, under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, in Mysuru district here on Friday. The Sports Meet was inaugurated by the chief guest, Gelek Jugney, Settlement Officer, Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala.

The event started off with a march-past, and the contingents gave the guard of honour to the chief guest, who hoisted the Meet flag and declared the Sports Meet open.

School Principal Dawa Tashi welcomed. Tibetan dance and folk songs were presented that depicted the rich Tibetan culture.

Students actively participated in various field and track events during the event. The winners were given medals and certificates.

The dignitaries present during the occasion included Lhakpa  Tsering, TDL Settlement Officer, Sh. A.K Sundriyal, Principal CST-CVP, Sh. J.P. Rai, S. Mukhopadhya and Jampa Tenzin, former Principal.

Tibetan Children Village School

The 33rd Annual Inter-house Athletics Meet of Tibetan Children Village School, Bylakuppe was also held recently.

Lhakpa Tsering, the Settlement Officer, TDL – Bylakuppe and Dawa Tashi, Principal in-Charge, Central School for Tibetan, Bylakuppe, were the chief guest.   

Tsireng Palden, Director, SOS School, welcomed.

The meet opened with the class-wise march past followed by performances  by junior children and a special line-up of cultural presentations as a tribute in solemnising His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 83rd  Birth Anniversary.

It was followed by a series of athletic events comprising track and field activities. The Meet concluded with the House-wise march-past followed by prize distribution ceremony.
