Mysuru: Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik has accused the State Government for the rise in atrocities against women in Karnataka.
He was addressing the gathering after releasing the book ‘Love Jihad’ at Pathrakarthara Bhavana, in the city yesterday.
“It is not just in the State, women across the country won’t feel safe. It is the Government and the Police, who have to be blamed for the rise in atrocities against women. It took about 12 long years for the verdict to be heard in the New Delhi Nirbhaya gang rape case and the delay in delivery of justice weakens action in controlling the atrocities. Hence, the Courts should come to the rescue of survivors,” demanded Muthalik.
Activists Bhramarambha, Maheshwari, Sundaresh and Venkatnarayan Rao were present.
At the sidelines of the book release, Muthalik alleged that miscreants belonging to a particular faith resort to violence, as they are confident that the Congress Government would anyhow withdraw the cases booked against them.
Muthalik said, the Police out of fear, refrain from initiating any action against them and neither those belonging to a particular community, are afraid of the Police, for the unwavering support they enjoy from the State Congress Government.
“The Police instead of recommending externment of a religious head who had provoked the mob to stone pelting on Udayagiri Police Station, have initiated procedures to extern Satish (the accused who was arrested and released on bail, for posting a derogatory image on social media, that triggered violence in Udayagiri), who hasn’t committed any wrong,” alleged Muthalik.
