Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations from Aug. 23

Mysuru: Sri Krishna Seva Samithi Charitable Trust and Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Gokulam 3rd Stage, have organised Sri Krishna Janmashtami  celebrations from Aug. 23 to 25. At 9 am and from 5.30 pm, there will be various puja rituals

Aug. 25 – 11 am: Sheshavahanotsava and Annakoototsava. 6 pm: Rathotsva, Srikrishna idol on a chariot will go around the 4th Cross, 2nd Main, 8th Cross and back to Temple.

Aug.28 – 6pm: Sri Jayachamaraj Wadiyar Centenary  2nd programme: Dr. R.N. Srilatha and Party to sung his Kruthis.

Aug. 29 – 6.30 pm:  “Bahuroopi Krishna” dance by Vidu.Smitha Raghunath and Party at Alwar Kalabhavan. 

Udupi Sri Krishna Mandira, Narayana Shastry Road, too has organised Sri Krishna Janmashtami programmes  from Aug. 23 to Aug. 30. Tomorrow, there will be puja rituals from 12-12 (midnight). 

Aug.25 – 6.30 pm: “Krishnanjali” Bharatanatyam by Karnataka Kalashree Dr. K. Kumar, K.M. Lekha, K.M. Nidhi and Group.

Aug.26 – 6.30 pm: Vid. C.S. Keshavachandra (flute), Vid. M. Keshava (violin), Vid. Sai Shivu Lakshmi Keshava (mridanga). 

Aug.27 – 6.30 pm: Srilalitha Uliyaru and Srihari Uliyaru (Harikatha – Bhaktha  Purandaradasa). 

Aug.28 – 12 noon: Annadana at Udupi Krishna Mandira; 6 pm: Vid. M.S. Govindaswamy and Vid. M.S.G. Umashankar (Dwanda violin), Vid.M.R. Manjunath (mridanga), Vid. M.R. Chandrashekhar (ghata).

Aug.29 – 6 pm: K. Shridevi Das and Group (Devaranama); 7.30 pm: Bhajana by Dharmabushana Late K. Seetharama Rao’s sons, grandsons, brothers’ sons and grandsons. 

Aug.30 – 10 am: Sri Raghavendra Bhajana Mandali, Chennai (Devotional Songs); 6.30 pm: Procession of decorated Lord Sri Krishna on Main Roads with Nadaswara, Bhajans and Vedaghosti.
