‘Sri Krishna Leelotsava’ Yakshagana show concludes

September 20, 2017

Mysuru: The seven-day ‘Sri Krishna Leelothsava,’ Yakshagana show organised by Bellipadi Yaksha Smaskrutika Trust, concluded last evening at Sri Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram here.

The last day featured episodes of ‘Sri Krishna Parandhama’ presented by members of Sri Mahaganapathy Yakshagana Mandali, Nidle. The artistes excellently portrayed Dharmaraya ascending the throne at Hasthinavathi after the battle of Mahabharatha, Pandavas devoutly paying obeisance to elders Dhrutharasthra, Gandhari, Vidhura, Sanjaya, Yuyuthsu and others. However Bheema passing sarcastic remarks on Dhrutharashtra and Gandhari really touched the heart of the audience. The other mythological incidents were elegantly brought on stage through Yakshagana with good supporting background music.
