IM M.S. Thejkumar and former State Champion Y.G. Vijayeendra, both from Mysuru, representing India in the Sri Lanka Open International Rating Chess Championship-2017 at YMBA Hall, Kurunegala near Colombo, won three rounds and with three points each, are placed first and second in the Ranking after three rounds yesterday.

IM Thejkumar beat Liyanye LDS of Sri Lanka in the second round and Sri Lanka’s Menuka Udara in the third round. Y.G. Vijayeendra beat Mapitigamaara of Sri Lanka in the second round and H.U. Vindhya of Sri Lanka in the third round.
