Sri Madiwala Machideva Jayanti on Feb. 1

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) R. Lokanath has directed the officials to make all preparations to meaningfully celebrate Sri Madiwala Machideva Jayanti on Feb.1 at 12 noon at Kalamandira, in the city.

At a preliminary meeting held at DC office on Thursday, ADC said that necessary steps will be taken to organise the Jayanti in a meaningful way.

Lokanth directed officials of Kannada and Culture Department to make arrangements to ensure cleanliness and for drinking water and shamiyana on the occasion.

Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, who spoke at the meeting said that cultural programmes including performance by art troupes will be organised to mark Sri Madiwala Jayanti and sought cooperation of committee members. Leaders of Sri Madiwala Machideva community and district level officials were present at the meeting.
