Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Jayanti and Anniversary of RK Ashrama from today

Mysuru:  As part of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s 183rd birthday and the anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna (RK) Ashrama, Yadavagiri, the following programmes will be held at various venues in city.

Feb. 17: Sri Ramakrishna Jayanti will be held at the Ashrama premises. Bhajans by Srimaata Samvit Bhajana Mandali will be held between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm followed by Vedamantra Patana from 5.30 pm to 6 pm. Discourse in Kannada will be from 6 pm to 6.50 pm followed by Aarati and special Bhajans between 7 pm and 8 pm.

The anniversary celebrations will be held from Feb. 18 to 25 in city.

Feb. 18: Nadalahari by Mysuru V. Krishnamurthy and troupe from 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm at the Ashrama auditorium.

Feb. 19: Pandit Mounesh Kumar Chavani will render Hindustani Classical vocal recital. He will be accompanied by Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath on Harmonium and Bheemashankar Bidanoor on Tabla from 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm at the Ashrama auditorium.

Feb. 20: Special lecture on the topic ‘The need of Swami Vivekananda’s message of strength for the youth’ by Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj from 10.30 am to 12 noon at Crawford Hall, University of Mysore.

A lecture on the topic ‘Transform yourself to transform the nation’ by Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj will be held from 2.30 pm to 4.15 am at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women on KRS Road.

Flute recital by Ravishankar Mishra and troupe will be held from 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm at the Ashrama auditorium.

Feb. 21: Special lecture on the topic ‘Human excellence and academic excellence for nation building’ by Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj from 11 am to 12.30 pm at SJCE auditorium.

Another lecture on the topic ‘Steps to build self-confidence – The Vivekananda way’ by Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj from 2.30 pm to 4.15 pm at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering.

Karnatak classical vocal recital by N.R. Prashanth will be held from 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm at the Ashrama auditorium. He will be accompanied by Mathoor Srinidhi on Violin, Tumkur B. Ravishankar on Mridanga and Kaushik on Ghata.

Feb. 22: Special lecture by Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj on ‘Achieving human excellence through Service’ will be held from 11 am to 12.30 pm at JSS Medical College. Another lecture on the topic ‘Why Vivekananda for the youth’ by Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj will be held at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology between 2.30 pm and 4.15 pm.

Violin recital by N. Ramasundar will be held at the Ashrama auditorium from 5.45 pm to 8.15 pm. He will be accompanied by Srinivasa Rao on Tabla, Purushothaman on Mridanga, Ajith Kumar on Ghata and Premkumar on Morching.

Feb. 23: The Day will be observed as Swami Vivekananda Day; a Youth Camp will be held for PU students at the Ashrama auditorium between 9 am and 1 pm. During the camp, a lecture on ‘Deshapremi Santha Swami Vivekananda’ by Swami Anupamanandaji Maharaj and another lecture on the topic ‘What a young man can learn from Swami Vivekananda’ by Swami Athmashradhanandaji Maharaj will be held.

A special discourse on ‘Yugacharya Swami Vivekananda’ by Swami Anupamanandaji Maharaj will be held from 6 pm to 6.45 pm in the Ashrama premises.

A feature on Sister Niveditha and Swami Vivekananda Nruthya Namana by Sharvari Veerabhadrappa Hubballi will be staged from 7 pm to 8 pm.

Feb. 24: ‘Sri Sharadadevi Day,’ a Youth Camp for PU girl students will be held at the Ashrama auditorium from 9 am to 1 pm during which Swami Athmashradhanandaji Maharaj will deliver a lecture on ‘Swami Vivekananda’s call to Indian Women.’

A special discourse on ‘Holy Mother and Her message of everyday greatness’ by Swami Athmashradhanandaji Maharaj will be held at the Ashrama from 5.45 pm to 6.15 pm followed by a Mandolin recital by Mandolin Prasad between 6.15 pm and 8.15 pm at the Ashrama auditorium. He will be accompanied by G.L. Ramesh Kumar on Flute, Nagabhushan Udupa on Keyboard, Jagadish Kurthkoti on Tabla and Gurudutt on Pads.

Feb. 25: Bhaktha Sammelana will be held from 9 am to 1 pm during which Swami Anupamanandaji Maharaj will deliver a lecture on ‘Sri Sharadadevi mathu Paripoorna Adyathmika jeevana’ and ‘Sister Nivedita: Her dedication and ideas on India and Education’ by Swami Athmashradhanandaji Maharaj.

A felicitation programme will be held from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm at the Ashrama auditorium in Yadavagiri.
