Mysuru: Senior Journalist D. Mahadevappa was presented ‘Sri Shivarathreeshwara Media Award’ instituted by JSS Institutions at a function held recently at the premises of Mysore District Journalist Association (MDJA) here.

Presenting the award, Senior Journalist Eshwar Daithota opined that the media played a vital role in protecting the health of society which in turn make scribes to be more concerned about social problems.

He regretted that wrong information were being aired through electronic media with each channel competing with another to grab credit, recognition and honour.

He contended that such wrong information would be detrimental to the society.

Mahadevappa asked journalists to counter challenges with grit and confidence.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Secretary S.P Manjunath, MDJA President C.K Mahindra, General Secretary K.J Lokesh Babu, JSS Mahavidyapeethe Publication Division Director Morabada Mallikarjun and others were present.
