Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji releases ‘Srimad Bhagavatam’

Mysore/Mysuru: Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji released ‘Srimad Bhagavatam,’ a Kannada translation by Vidwan Vijayendra Acharya, at Sri Krishnadhama, Saraswathipuram in city last evening.

The book was released as a part of ‘Srimad Ramayana’ discourse series, organised as part of 36th Chaturmasya Vratha of Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji by Chaturmasya Committee.

Speaking after the release of the book, Vidwan Vijayendra Acharya said “Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji himself has collected the series of discourse rendered by his predecessor Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji. Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji verified all the shlokas before it went to print.”

‘Srimad Bhagavatam’ has been written in relevance to present scenario, which can be termed as a best remedy to bring down the level of stress among youngsters. The present pontiff who was initiated into Sainthood by Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji wanted to present any book endeared to him. Hence, the above mentioned literary work became possible, explained Vidwan Vijayendra Teertha about what acted as a spur to write this book.

During his lifetime, Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji stove for the organisation of Hindu religion, which will be carried forward by the present pontiff. ‘Srimad Bhagavatam’ has been already translated into Marathi and English languages and will be translated into two or three more languages, said Vidwan Vijayendra Acharya.

Prior to book release, Sri Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji explained about the personality of ‘Sri Ramachandra’ during Sri Ramayana discourse series.

It was followed by the rendition of Haridasa Geethe by Vidu. Ananya Bhat and Vidu. Bhoomika Koundinya, enthralling  the devotees.
