Srikanteshwara Temple records Rs.1.72 crore hundi collection

Nanjangud: The famed Srikanteshwara Temple at Nanjangud has recorded a hundi collection of Rs.1.72 crore.

The counting of all the 35 hundis of the temple was taken up on Tuesday at the Temple’s Dasoha Bhavan, during which Rs.1,72,85,296 cash, 92 grams of gold jewellery, 3.5 kg silver articles and 33 foreign currencies were found.

More than 100 women members of Self-Help Groups took part in the counting process.

Temple Executive Officer Jagadish Kumar, AEO Satish, Accounts Officer Gurumallaiah, Muzrai Tahsildar Vidyullatha, Bank of Baroda Nanjangud Branch Manager Karthik and others were present.
