Srilatha’s Veena concert tomorrow at RAAGA

Vidu. Y.G. Srilatha, a talented young musician, is to present a Veena recital at RAAGA Music Academy, at 5.30 pm on Saturday (Feb. 17), at Prajna Kuteera, Vishwamanava Double Road, Kuvempunagar.

Srilatha, daughter of Vidu. Y.G. Parimala and  Y.G. Sampath Kumar, is a rare achiever in both Science and Art. She is a M. Tech in Digital Signal Processing with Distinction from Jain University. Now, to the Arts side where she is making waves. She received her initial training in Vocal and Veena from her mother. She is pursuing her training in Veena from Ganakalabhooshana Dr. Suma Sudhindra. She has given over 500 concerts, which includes solo, duet, fusion and group ensembles. A recent instrument based dance recital ‘Nava Vidha Bhakti through RagamTanamPallavi’ had Srilatha as lead Veena player.

This ‘B High’ graded artiste of AIR is accompanied by two highly rated young percussionists — Vid. B.S. Prashanth on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.

A talk on Healthy Living through Ayurveda and Yoga by Dr.N.V. Krishnamurthy, Director, Prajna Kuteera, from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm, precedes the concert.
