Mysuru: Claiming that the budget presented by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was lopsided and fraught with regional disparity, senior BJP leader and MLA B. Sriramulu has said that this may lead to cries for a separate North Karnataka State.
Speaking after meeting Seer Arjun Guruji of Avadootha Datta Peetham on Sonar Street off N.S. Road here recently, Sriramulu predicted that the JD(S)-Congress alliance will not last beyond the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
Charging that the budget had neglected North Karnataka and coastal districts, which voted for BJP in the Assembly polls, he accused Kumaraswamy of deliberately refusing to roll out programmes for these areas.
Alleging that the budget was meant only for Hassan, Mandya and Ramanagaram districts, Sriramulu said that this budget has instigated the demand for a separate North Karnataka State.
On the tie-up between the Congress and the JD(S) for the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charisma would conquer all.
Maintaining that the Coalition Government had failed to keep its promise in its very first budget, the MLA said that it had lost the confidence of the people.
Clarifying that he would not contest next year’s Lok Sabha polls, he said that, however, he will tour the entire State and campaign for the BJP candidates and added that he was sure that the NDA headed by PM Modi would return to power.
Predicting that the Coalition Govt. may fall anytime, he said that the BJP being single largest party with 104 seats would come to power again in the State.
City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, leaders Jogi Manju, Gokul, Sharath and others were present.
Meanwhile Sriramulu’s meeting with Seer Arjun Guruji that lasted for about 30 minutes, has assumed significance even as Joint Session of the State Legislature is underway at Bengaluru.
