Mysuru: School of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, has organised ‘SRUJANA 2026 — Science Working Model Making Competition and Exhibition’ tomorrow (Sept. 22) at the School of Life Sciences, JSS AHER. The programme is organised as part of the 111th Jayanti celebrations of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji.

SRUJANA aims to provide a platform for UG and PG students to demonstrate innovative scientific ideas through working models, encourage scientific thinking & creativity and promote interaction among students, teachers & researchers.

The earlier editions of SRUJANA have also served as intercollegiate platforms for students from diverse science and technology disciplines to exhibit their innovations. The 2026 edition has received an overwhelming response from institutions across the region. More than 100 registrations, representing around 88 teams, 300-plus student participants, 26 institutions from 10 districts have been received, with participation extending across three States.

The competition will be conducted separately under UG & PG categories and the participating models will be evaluated by expert panels on their scientific merit, innovation, practical relevance, presentation and overall effectiveness. A total cash prize of Rs. 35,000 will be awarded to the winners in the two categories.

The inaugural programme will be held at 11 am on Sept. 22, followed by the science model exhibition and evaluation. Faculty members, students and science enthusiasts are invited to visit the exhibition and interact with the young innovators.
