SSLC student dies in road accident

Nanjangud: A SSLC student, who was proceeding on a two-wheeler to the exam centre, was killed when the two-wheeler on which he was proceeding hit a roadside electric pole on the Main Road between Maakanapura and Kasavanahalli in the taluk this morning. The deceased student is Manikanta, a resident of Haginavalu village.

Manikanta, along with two other students, was proceeding on a two-wheeler to the exam centre at the Government High School at Kasuvinahalli village when the accident took place.

While another student Darshan suffered serious injuries and has been admitted in an ICU at JSS Hospital in Mysuru, Mallesh, who too was with deceased Manikanta and Darshan, escaped miraculously and is writing  the exam.

Nanjangud Block Education Officer (BEO) Narayan and staff, Nanjangud Rural PSI Puneeth and Probationary PSI Aarathi visited the spot. A case has been registered at Nanjangud Rural Police Station in this regard.
