Staging of play Parshwa Sangeetha this weekend at Kiru Rangamandira

Mysore/Mysuru: Rangavalli Team will be staging the play Parshwa Sangeetha on July 22 (Saturday) and 23 (Sunday) at 6.30 pm at Kiru Rangamandira in Kalamandira Complex, Mysuru.  Parshwa Sangeetha, which is an adaptation of the essays written by Srinivasa Vaidya, is directed by Prashanth Hiremath, who is one of the senior artistes of Rangayana, Mysuru.

About the play: Parshwa Sangeetha narrates the author’s association with the timeless classic melodies of Hindi films, from the 1940s till the recent times. It presents the way in which the wonderful songs are interwoven into our lives and the way they have made an impact on us.

Great singers like Ameer Bai Karnataki, Saigal, Talat Mehmood, Manna Dey, Kishore, Mahendra Kapoor, Mukesh, Rafi, Lata and others, whose melodies ring in our ears and pull the emotional strings of our heart even today, are revisited in the on-stage adaptation of the write-up. Every generation has their own favourite hero, heroine along with their favourite movies and songs. The narrator in this play reminisces his childhood memories, where the Golden era of Hindi cinema was making its mark on the youth of those days. The example of this impact is remembered by recollecting the life of the narrator’s uncle, Shama, who was an embodiment of the spirit of the classic movies and songs.
